Adjustable 7W Heat Mat for ant farms, formicarium and small terrariums
Most ant species raise brood much faster when the nest is warm. This slim 7W heat mat with an adjustable dial gives your colony a gentle, even warm zone, so queens lay more and larvae grow faster, even in a cool Canadian home in winter. It’s the right size for test tube setups, small and medium formicarium, and small reptile or insect enclosures.

How to use it with an ant colony
- Put the mat under one end of the nest or outworld, never the whole thing. Your ants will move their brood to the temperature they prefer.
- Start on a low setting and check the temperature after an hour. Most common species do well at around 24–28 °C in the warm zone.
- Keep an eye on humidity: warm nests dry out faster, so check your water tubes or hydration more often.
- For the most stable temperature, use it with a thermostat or check it with a thermometer, such as our thermometer and hygrometer.

Safety tips
Use it only under the outside of an enclosure, never inside where animals can touch it directly. Don’t fold it, cover it with bedding, or put it in water. Unplug it before cleaning.
