Many keepers dream of Atta – the largest, most organized and developed leaf-cutters (there is an opinion that they are the most advanced of all ants). Representatives of this genus are really very interesting, but also complex: it is not easy to grow a starting family and preserve the mycelium.

But the most important thing that the owner of Atta will have to face is the size of the family. Once the Ants Calgary team managed to get to know these ants better (read the details on the facebook). In the Experimentarium museum (Russia), not the oldest family was waiting for us, but its number (about a million) was amazing! And in nature, nests of leafcutters, whose age exceeds ten years, can reach the area of an entire field.
