This species is recommended as ideal for those who are just starting to keep tropical ants. They are one of the most unpretentious exotic species and are very easy to keep in captivity, eating almost everything that is offered to them. Of course, you do not need to feed them sausage and cheese. The diet of C. Nicobarensis ants includes: live insects, dead insects, sugar syrup, various sweet natural substances and various fruits (except citrus). Ants are active throughout the year and are not too aggressive, which also makes them suitable for beginner hobbyists.
As a rule, ants avoid confrontations and do not seek out conflicts, but will fiercely defend their nests in case of danger. The bites of these ants are painful. They use chemical defense (acid), which is quite caustic, but fortunately it cannot harm a person. They prefer to foray at night, although during periods of food shortage and on cloudy days they can carry out reconnaissance in daylight hours.
