About this product

Species Info:

General: A fast-growing and highly active species. Queens are black, while workers are black or occasionally black/brown. Their distinct heart-shaped gasters set them apart from other ants.
Diet: Generalist feeders that thrive on liquid sugars and various proteins like crickets and mealworms. Growth rate depends heavily on food intake.
Temperature: A heat source is crucial for long-term colony growth, with an optimal range of 80-85°F.
Diapause: Requires a 1-2 month diapause, with temperatures around 40°F. This can be achieved using a wine cooler, mini fridge, or a safe non-heated room. Gradual cooling is recommended.
Growth: Brood develops in 4-6 weeks (typically 5). With sufficient heat and food, colonies can reach hundreds of workers in the first year and thousands by the second.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Recently purchased a full ant farm and ant package. It came with everything we needed to get started including food and instructions. We also added on a decor piece too and it looks awesome and fits perfectly. This is very new to us so we had many questions and we were able to get them all answered and then some. Amazing seller and products and would definitely purchase from again. Highly recommended.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Leon reached out after I placed my order to ask questions, give tips and advice, and once I made my decision, he shipped everything out quickly. Queen, nanitics and brood all arrived safely, and didn’t seem phased by the travel. 10/10 service, nice guy and I’m very grateful. Cheers, Leon!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The ants arrived with more workers than advertised. The queen is calm, and she has a big pile of larvae and eggs. Thank you Ant Farms Calgary! Would recommend this service.
